Our mission is to develop a digital youth council that generates a sustainable community of dedicated young people from across the world that shares a responsibility for a common vision of hope to create a world capable of change, that feels part of a movement they themselves can mobilize, and that is free of a feeling of isolation and resignation through providing the members with an open, healing, digital space to share their cultures, individualities, and gifts.

Hi folks. Besides a few grammatical changes to the statement I would like to just point out that in effective branding practices a mission statement should be: a) easily recalled without use of notes and able to be repeated by every member of the organization; b) in fewest words possible capture the essence of the mandate being served; c) be easily understood by all, including those not engaged with the organization/project; and d) evoke both an emotional and functional 'benefit' response from those exposed to it.
With this in mind, I think we are definitely on the right track but I feel that we need to significantly massage the wording to meet the criteria of a good mission statement. Nonetheless, the more expanded wording is good introduction to the work and purpose of the Digital Youth Council. As I have over 30 years in guiding mission/vision and branding, I am happy to discuss more fully how we might hone in on something. Any thoughts???
