I am sorry to say that I had to remove the first video of Chief Phil's interview with Raven Redbone, on, "Make No Bones About It." Sadly, I received a copyright infringment notice from YouTube. It broke my heart to have to do this; please accept my apology. -- Renee

Chief Phil Lane Jr. is such an inspiring figure. I was privileged to hear him as one of the speakers in “You Were Born For Times Like These” here in Seattle back in April. Not only was he a dynamic speaker but I felt the power coming through as though he was talking directly to me. I would have loved to have seen a video of him speaking in this but of course this was a radio interview over the phone. Renee did a wonderful job putting this together and I hope that many people will have the opportunity to view it.

One story that he told was about how this bully had convinced him that there was a skeleton that would kill him if he told the boy’s secret. One night Chief Phil Lane Jr.’ Father took him to the old building where the skeleton was supposed to live and he told him to walk through the building to the back door and he would meet him there. He did as his Father instructed him all the while dreading the skeletons appearing. It didn’t but his Father sent him back and forth several times until he completely overcame his fear. That struck me as a very loving act his Father did. I think we have sort of been avoiding our own mental skeletons imposed upon our minds by a colonial bully. By walking our higher path we are concurring our own fears. Though the way may be hard we are walking hand-in-hand and we can be sure our own loving Fathers are just on the other side of the door. Chief Phil Lane Jr. is one of them.
