Hi Deloria,
I am a "leveler" and truth-teller so that means that I am often not understood as an Advocate. I am not against anyone or anything. I am and Advocate for what is good. beautiful and true. We reach truth by reasoning which leads us to use our co-creative imagination for powerwithin to have powerwith others. A black man told me that the definition of a man is one who knows how to take care of women, children and elders and does so.
I spent most of July in South Dakota and attended my first Sundance at Pine Ridge with a Sioux friend from Eagle Butte. I helped cook and took care of the chidren in the camp. I spent time with my cousin who is also Choctaw-Navajo. She lives in Mission and has been married to a Sioux man for over 30 years.
I did the invocation for the National Midwife Convention at the Seattle Convention Center in May and recently took 40 women through a healing ceremony at their annual "Gather the Women" conference at the UW.
I will be going home to the Navajo Nation in mid-September to vist family, friends and clan medicine people.
I appreciate you and the work you are doing to restore authentic Native teaching among your generation of youth.
I still do Yoga, 50 push-ups a day and 255 stairs in my neighborhood and spiritual ceremonial healing work with local people and others around the world.

Hi Patricia, I have been thinking about you lots and a lot about what you said in your email a few months back! I want you to know how much appreciate and cherish you as my elder. Also, I am so happy to have you in my life as a good role model of how I should be as a Native woman. I wish I could say more about how much I understand what you said but all I can say is time has a way of telling and showing you the true reality of things. With Great Respect and Honor, I hope to be in touch! Deloria
Hi Patricia, I just wanted to say hello and reconnect with you! I have been thinking about you lots the past few weeks and everything you have taught me and I want you to know how much I appreciate and honor you! Hope you are well!
Big hug, Deloria
Patricia,
I am sending emails to the email address on your website, will you get them there? I am still learning from what you have been teaching me and others.

All of us working for HONOR day and the HONOR way are incredibly grateful for your honorable presence to both bless our circle and be our special guest in the Sacred Honor Circle at the Folk Life Festival yesterday!
You were living the loving way to do that for us!
