Introduction to the Medicine Wheel Concept – Level 1

To date our thousands of classes have been very successful.  Initially, we intended to train facilitators to deliver Medicine Wheel presentations.  But, what started out to be a training module slowly transformed into a sacred circle of sharing and healing.  In the circle trust is quickly developed and sharing is encouraged and supported by our Elders.  We incorporate the teachings of the Circle of Life into our training and besides the sharing we also laugh, sing, dance and support one another.  It is a very memorable occasion and according to many of the evaluations it is…”awesome!”

In this first module we start the week off with an opening prayer by a respected Elder, who honours us with traditional teachings and guidance.  This is followed by an explanation of our sacred smudging ceremony and some of the protocols to be aware of when leading this purification rite.  The trainer then shares teachings around the Circle of Life, which is followed by a circle check and a closing prayer.

• Sharing a traditional meal
• Offering spirit plates
• Presentation of certificates
