Indigenous Message to Humanity Delivered at "Lighting of Sacred Fire Ceremony"at Rio+20

Brazilian Indigenous Leader Marcos Terrena delivers a Sacred Message to All Humanity at the “Lighting of the Sacred Fire Ceremony" at the Kari-Oca Indigenous Village to initiate Rio+20.

"Whether or not the nation states, multinational corporations and International Development Agencies that surround us are willing or able to participate at this time, our Indigenous Peoples and Allies are moving forward in rebuilding and reunifying the Americas through the Natural Laws that are inherent in our Indigenous World View and Legal Order. These Natural Laws are based on a ever-enduring, eternal, spiritual foundation.

1. We have ancient prophecies and a clear vision of a future of social justice and collective prosperity for the Americas that we manifesting that fully honors the
Natural Laws and Rights of Mother Earth!

2. We have a strong and unbreakable spiritual foundation that is empowering us to arise to our promised destiny, with greater, greater strength, courage and unity, after an intense spiritual wintertime. This long spiritual wintertime included the utmost human cruelty, violence, injustice, abuse, and physical and cultural genocide.

Despite these challenges, our Indigenous Peoples are re-awakening everywhere and reclaiming our cultural identities and healing our Sacred Relationships between ourselves, Mother Earth and all Humanity.

3. Together, with growing numbers of Allies, we have all the spiritual and material resources needed to co-create and rebuild our Families, Tribes and Nations stronger and more unified than ever before.

4. Our Indigenous Peoples of Mother Earth have the collective social and economic capital, coupled with vast natural resources, to bring our greatest dreams and visions to reality. This includes Protecting and Restoring our Beloved Mother as the Sacred Heritage of all Generations! These collective resources are empowering us to become a primary spiritual and economic force in the Americas and around Mother Earth. We are destined to play a greater and greater role as key global leaders in wisely mandating the ways Mother Earth's gifts and resources will or will not be developed! We will continue to insure that where the development of our natural resources is not sustainable, they will not be exploited! Our Sacred Places and our Beloved Mother Earth are not for sale for unsustainable, exploitation for any price!

5. We, the Indigenous Peoples of the Eagle of the North and our Allies have collective resources to support our Indigenous Relatives of the Condor and their Allies of the South in developing their collective resources, as they choose. The Condor of the South equally have collective resouces resources to share with the Eagle of the North. Our greatest strength that is yet to be fully realized is our spiritual and cultural unity.

6. Utilizing emerging digital communications and green technologies in harmony with our vast, social, economic, cultural and spiritual capacities, we are manifesting, as promised, a future with social, environmental and economic justice for all life!

7. The primary challenge that stands before Indigenous Peoples and the Human Family, in rebuilding the Americas,is disunity. This disunity has been directly caused by genocide and colonialism. This unresolved inter-generational trauma is in the process of being fully recognized, addressed and healed.
As we move courageously and wisely move forward we are rapidly reconnecting to our enduring and unbreakable spiritual and cultural foundation for healing, reconciliation and Unprecedented Unified Action for “Protecting and Restoring the Sacred " everywhere on Mother Earth.
With the realization of this spiritual and cultural foundation all that is needed for our ultimate victory will gracefully unfold at the right time and place, as foretold by our Ancient Ones!

Yes, Rio+20 was a great disappointment from the Nation States and International Development Agencies lack of action, but a clear message that we need to move forward in unprecedented, unified action by and for the People! The old Paradigm is simply to outworn and impotent to take any meaningful action on any major challenges facing the Human Family. David Suzuki was just quoted on the front page of Maclean's  as saying, with great disappoint that "Environmentalism has failed." Yes, environmentalism, based in divisive, partisan political action is proving to be a failure! For For For as my beloved Father always told me, " If you dance with a drunk you will look like a drunk!" On the other hand, Indigenous led, spiritual and culturally based environmentalism is becoming stronger and stronger as we move forward with ever growing, unprecedented unified action. Getting involved in partisan

Thank you for sharing this powerful message, very encouraging. It is time for each of us whether we are red, black, yellow or white to take a personal inventory of our lives ~ we need to simplify our life. Our ancestors required very little to survive.

They chose not to ever over-utilize anything and everything in life and throughout their life-time left Mother-earth as undisturbed as possible. This is what we are blessed with today, therefore we have a sacred duty to protect what is left of Mother-earth.

We need to each choose and carefully allow Mother-earth to rest and rejuvinate herself in order for the unborn generation to survive. We must know the difference between a need and a want in life, thus we won't be lead by our greed and selfish desires that can destroy our Mother-earth.

Everything and everyone upon Mother-earth is interconnected. We need to realize where we have weakened as First Nation People along the line of history and repair as best as we could what we can. And, thats our families. We need to remember each member of the family-unit has a sacred duty.

Grandparents have an obligation to teach the history and language of their People. Parents have a duty to love, nurture, gently discipline and lovingly correct the children. Raising the children in such a way that they will know and live with honesty, humbled-hearts, to be caring and compassionate.

Children need to know what self-honor and self-control is, that way the dysfunction we know in our families and communities of today can be eliminated. The aunts and Uncles of every family unit need to also participate in the children's lives by protecting and guiding the younger ones as they mature.

In the past ,it used to be the men going out to provide for the family while the moms stayed home to raise the children. This was great, because the children had the right attention, they grew up knowing they were loved. They grew up being taught, corrected and encouraged. They grew up with strong roots. They grew up with a direction and foundation. They had purpose. They grew up ready to take their place in the family-circle, knowing their responsibilities.

With all the single-parent families of today, we each need to support these families. We need to step in as surrogate aunts or uncles. If we have an abundance of food, than we should share it with those that may have less. Afterall, when we put "goodness" into the universe than it will come back to us during our own time of need.

When we each take the time and attention to really look after one another, than no one suffers. One for all, all for one. There won't be "lack" within any homes. When we teach our children the value of work, than there won't be "slack." There needs to be an equal balance in everything. If we each do our part in the work for the survival of each family-unit than we are living the proper-way.

When we choose to live a proper-way than we can be assured that when its our time to meet our Maker, we will do so with a clean heart and soul. We'll have no regrets. We'll know we served our purpose. We'll know we did our best to learn all what we need to learn. We'll know that we have loved and cared for others along our life-journey. We'll have left Mother-earth as unharmed and undisturbed as possible for the next generation.

It is empowering to hear these things from our relatives in Brazil. We are witnessing the lighting of the Eighth Fire. What was intended for bad has become good.

Is just a shame our Native forefathers we're duped by the gov't and today we are once again. Rio+20 was more about eroding national sovereignty, concentrating coercive power at the global level, centrally planning the world economy, chipping away at private property rights, reducing the population, spreading abortion and contraception worldwide, using “education” to brainwash future generations into accepting the state of affairs, building more bureaucracies, and more.
