...paired with its (Canadian) twin, "The '60's Scoop" that entailed removal of those poor little savauges from their familes and their adoption by "civilized" persons. The US had its "boarding schools" and "Indian Aoption Programs". Sadly, those programs continue to this day albeit in modified form.
