This is truly amazing. The applications are limitless and could revolutionize manufacturing. The next step is to create from the basic building blocks of matter.
I remember hearing about Nano technology and other sub atomic ideas that talked about breaking things down to the level of atomic and sub-atomic particles and then reassembling them. In other words, you throw in a bunch of varied garbage and out comes a Ferrari—all you have to do is come up with the basic design and a replica. Hasn’t happened yet-but I bet someone is working on it.
Also, Google has now developed a car that will drive itself—which makes sense to me since humans are such bad drivers—why not just program your trip, get in the quay and read a book, watch a movie, engage in activities—whatever.
It would clearly reduce the need for highways by making everything more efficiently and might ultimately reduce the need for vehicles since someone will ultimately come up with a way of hitching up personal private spaces—sort of like a train to save on energy but with privacy and without the need for human interaction.
