Benny Drescher has not received any gifts yet
Benny Drescher is a researcher at UC Santa Barbara and a changemaker, community activist, naturalist, and forager living in Santa Cruz, California.
Benny received a B.Sc. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In his career as a practitioner of ecological restoration, he has practiced in a diversity of ecosystem types, including coastal dunes, wetlands, nearshore islands, shoreline intertidal zones, oak savannas, and as a field ecologist he has studied California grasslands with UC Santa Barbara and mediterranean riparian systems with the US Forest Service.
As a community changemaker, involvement in the Surfrider Foundation led him to establish the Isla Vista Compost Collective, and as a grassroots activist, Benny co-founded the Extinction Rebellion group of Santa Barbara. He is inspired by the global movements to protect and uplift indigenous rights, cease anthropogenic biosphere crisis, and transform human relationships. His next calling involves marrying transformational ecological healing with transformational human healing. He hopes to share this vision with others already working to manifest it, humbling himself in service to traditional knowledge-keepers, to expert permaculture designers, to holistic healers of mind, spirit and body, and to grounded entrepreneurs.
