I grew up among the Red Lake Ojibwe, Northwest Angle, Lake of the Woods, Minnesota and am currently teaching for the Interinstitutional Consortium for Indigenous Knowledge (ICIK), Penn State University. I spend a month in May and June with students among the people of Red Lake, Leech Lake, and White Earth. I am dedicated to cultural revitalization and language recovery as well justice and peacebuilding. I am also currently developing a cultural engagement program for international students and visiting scholars from around the world so that they have an opportnity to meet, interact with, and learn from Native (Anishinaabeg) teachers and elders in Michigan. I have been involved in indigenous education for many years.
