The Four Worlds International Institute

Apparently a long long time ago before there were any humans trees
could talk. Each one boasting on who was the greenest and the tallest
and who could provide the best shade that sort of thing.

Well one autumn the trees were having a disagreement over who could
stay green the longest. Mano, got wind of this argument and to settle
it he said, "who ever can stay awake the longest through the winter
will be provided with the gift of being evergreen no matter what the
weather."

Excited all the trees and bushes and grass and plants agreed to the
challenge. Well, a few months into winter the Maple grew tired and fell
asleep as did the mighty Oak followed by a few others. At the end of
winter Mano came back to find the Pine, Holly and the Ivy along with
others still holding on although very sleepy and declared them the
winners and that they shall remain forever green.
