The Four Worlds International Institute

Date Updated:02/04/2009

We are interested in understanding the current status of programs and languages and charting a course to help localize those programs that we agree need to be. We have updated the grid below and know it is still incomplete and inaccurate but we are getting there! Alex was a great help in explaining what gets translated. Lets see if we got it right.

The table shows the programs as part of the three pathways (digital, career, life) and makes a place for identifying English, Thai, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Please help us understand the current situation and lets discuss how we localize what needs to be. The column to the left of the English identifies what gets translated. We don't know what is available in what language. We have attached a word document that has the table.

Currently Thai is only available in one lesson plan of one application of eLearning for MOS. The process to localize MCAS is underway with completion scheduled for mid 2009. When this effort is finished, we will have eLearing for 3 MCAS applications. As an independent effort we are looking at ways to translate IC3 and S2S to Thai. The most likely avenue to make this happen is through our Thailand partners.
This is very helpful to know, Scott. I will expand the grid to include the specific lesson plans so we get down to that level of detail. Lets talk about working with the Thai partners on other translations.

Dear Relatives -- What would really be helpful is to understand in detail what I have from existing curriculum to meet the need of the promises made by me in Thailand to provide IC3 training at $300 per person to 20 people. It's possible that up to 10 of these scholarships could be in English as well it would be helpful to understand the reality of the offerings that can be made at this time in the 16 countries served by FORUM ASIA. Do you have a grid that clarifies countries, best channel partners, and language offerings from Certiport so I can be certain about what we can offer and deliver.

As well there are two major conferences that I have been invited to attend in India and Mexico. The one in Mexico will bring together the leadership of all Indigenous Peoples across Mexico and Mexico's President. I have been invited to attend by the President of Mexico's largest charity organization. The conference in India will bring together Indigenous leaders from 40 countries and the organizers have invited me to be a key plenary speaker. As well I will return to Thailand in the middle of February with Jon Ramer and Philip Cook.
Warm Love and Greetings, Phil.
Greetings All,

I received an email from our project management team that shows that Thai is on the project plan for Word, PowerPoint and Excel for the exams. The eLearning is available on the ElementK site.

Jon and Phil - if you can let me know when you are planning on visiting Certiport - I can ensure we meet with Jim Holm and Jan Day to properly scope the project out. Everyone at Certiport is back in the office on Monday. :-)
Thanks, Michelle. I need to understand what your comment means, i.e. when they translate to Thai word, powerpoint, and excel, does that mean that they will do it for all versions of Microsoft Office? What is ElementK? Thanks so much for being our guide!!

I'll send an email about having a call with Phil for either Wednesday or Thursday.
Jon
