Powerful and Unifying words from Sun Dance Chief Rueben George, Tsleil-Waututh Nation at the Coast Salish Canoe Gathering Celebration to Protect the Salish Sea from Tar Sands Oil! The Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations formally joined forces at this Historic Canoe Gathering with the support of other Coast Salish First Nations.
Using Coast Salish Ceremonial and Legal Protocol that has governed their unceded lands and waters, since time immemorial, formal and spiritual notice was respectfully and prayerfully given to Kinder Morgan that their proposed expansion of Tar Sands Pipe Lines and Tankers will not be allowed on the unceded waters and territories on and surrounding the Burrard Inlet and the Salish Sea!
