#OWS Solidarity Gathering, Vancouver, B.C.
September 15, 2012—4pm—Grandview Park-intersection of Charles Street and Commercial Drive
Talking Circle Facilitators Needed!
On October 15, 2011, 5000 people gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery, with great thanksgiving to First Nations to meet on their never surrendered, unceded land, to voice their urgent concerns about a broad and diverse range of s
social and economic issues, to show their support for the global Occupy movement and to launch our own occupation as part of the global struggle against economic inequality, environmental destruction, and political corruption. These issues have not gone away. We, concerned citizens of Vancouver, of Canada, and of the world, are still hungry for the changes that we must make to our ailing economies, our unresponsive political systems, and for the sustainable and harmonious relationship we must develop with the natural environment and all members of the Human Family
On Saturday September 15, 2012, let’s gather at Grandview Park to show our continuing support for and solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and the anniversary of their taking of Liberty Square, in the heart of Manhattan’s financial district, on September 17, 2011. And when we’re together, let’s figure out how we might move forward together, upon what guiding-principles and enduring foundation—because a sustainable movement must have guiding- principles and a solid and enduring foundation—and how we will mark our own anniversary of October 15. Let’s figure out how to begin again, and get back to facilitating social, economic, and political change. Let’s continue the struggle. Again, with Great Thanksgiving to the First Nation`s on whose never-surrendered and unceded land we will be meeting on!
