The Four Worlds International Institute

I am a gobal medical herblist. In my tradition, I take no money or gifts to help people who are in need of healing. I am strengthened by what I learn when I am given the honor to help people heal themselves. I do have one question: I ask this of all I sit with and that question I also pose to this forum: "Why do we two legged insist on becoming and remaining ill, phsyically/spiritually, there is no separation. As I grow in my path of enlightenment I too see those who identify themselves by the illness they carry. So many of us have yet to understand that we create our reality. I believe that some of my family feel that their sickness is who they are. They speak of the inevitabiltiy of their illness because they see it in their elders and do not see that they can change the way they view themselves. I agree that our EGO is the obstacle we first must learn to understand. After reading Eckhart Tolle's definition of the EGO it was an initial shock to my mind that I was not what I do (I am a labor and delivery nurse) since I identify with my job so closely. But in the next instant there was a sense of relief, I could just BE. I believe that pain and illness whether experienced by ourselves or those we love can teach us to go deeper into our Spiritual walk, if only we will choose. I'm sorry for your loss Firewoman, never having been there I cannot imagine your pain. I have helped families through their loss of their babies who died before birth, so many, and such a tragedy for those famlies. I understand that there is nothing I can do to make it better, I can only be there with every ounce of love I am able to generate by my actions and attention. Words seem impotent in times like yours, but if the spirit of my love comes through those words, that is what my prayer is in every case. My father was sick as a child and because of his life experience he always had a deeper understanding of life. He tried often to communicate his lessons, so often misunderstood by his children (as we grew into adulthood). The question can only be answered by each two-legged, what is it that we feel we receive by living in a state of dis-ease?

Dear Warren,
I find myself tonight also pondering your question and as much as I try to put my fingers on it I cannot come up with one single answer. I think everyone is put on this earth to find out more about themselves and their relationship to all the elements around them. Perhaps some people are just not at the level yet where they can see the connection between the physical world and the spiritual world. While others, such as yourself has the spiritual capacity to see this connection. One of the most important ways we can begin to heal this if we ourselves can be teachers and remind others of the inner-connection of everything around us!

Warren, I am a common woman. I am caretaker of my daughter's spirit bundle and caretaker of an alter.
I have been pondering your question today. Maybe we get sick because we do not feel worthy enough to be well? Maybe what we need is to help lift each other up so we may heal together.
Although I cannot find the answer within myself with regards to my daughter. I do not know how, and why, innocent children get sick if it is ourselves making us sick? I lost my 16 month old daughter to cancer last year, July 13th. She did not make herself sick nor did I make her sick. I do believe that she came into being to remind us how to love, openly and unconditionally. It is my charge to tell others of her story.
I would like to understand your ideas but am having a hard time grasping the concepts. I would like to share.experiences with you. Hope and love, Firewoman

My name is White-Bear, I am Ben-doh-k'-heh Chakonan Nde' (Apache), I am medicine person, like you. The problem is we are trying too hard to seperate. We have suffered from the biggest sickness of all.....EGO! It is by teaching that we will be able to rid ourselves of this disease, maybe not in our lifetimes, but eventually.

May you walk in beauty
