On Dark Skin

Tu and Ta are the oldest daughters of Pay Lay and are refugees from Burma. Pay Lay is a farmer now in the Kansas City area and Sandy and I enjoy the produce from her garden.

We also enjoyed the company of them last summer as we shared our common space at market. It struck us one day how self conscience they were about their dark skin. Tu wanted to be white. Her cousin came by and was busy bleaching her…

And the Holy Spirit

And the Holy Spirit was invited to take over a small congregation of only 11 people in a humble church in Guinda, December 24, 2011. The email invitation said we will be singing Christmas Carols with a service from 10 pm to Midnight.  There was only one church in the rural town of Guinda and it was Methodist. It was the church Anand's grandfather had been the pastor of some 70 years ago. Anand had never been in the church for a service and it was an inspirational moment for both of us who…

In the Spirit of Our Time

Saturday December17th is as rainy a day we have been having of late in the Republic of Panama.

As a result we wait for the weather to become more agreeable for a walk to gather medicinal plants.

My wife will accompany me as the plants she needs for her patients require her more expert attention.

After crossing a stream into government land I hand her the machete, and walk behind to carry a large sack in which we will place the medicine.

For me it is a… Continue

Trees

See this for a shocking wake up call to what is Now happening. http://www.salon.com/2011/12/15/obama_to_sign_indefinite_detention_bill_into_law/singleton/ . It seems as though the government wants to continue fear in Us. Fear closes the sphincter so We are All puckered up. If this seems a bit anal, so what and keep listening for the fun…

Loving

From a Kindred Spirt, Yes.

Relationships and love are about giving, not about taking. Not about what you can get out of a person, but how you can enrich their life. A good relationship is one in which you and the other are equally willing to give, and to open to receive what the other is giving.

Remember that giving is what makes the relationship strong, that is to say the other is…

Opening the Heart

There must have been some pretty strong Praying for Us to come  back Here from the Seat of  It All, Perfectly Content, just Watching and no More. But Councils can be convincing. So, reluctantly, We did So on Agreement.

This One of Us Looked Around for a Kindred Spirit upon arriving Here and found none. The deal was based on return visitation rights. This One could go Back to the Love Light Place and…

Voices from the heart

  When the moon comes full

step out and face her.

Listen to the cry of the wolves.

Hear the coyotes yap.

Hold on and let nature flow.

Parts of past, present and

Future come thru her.

Listen to your dreams.…
