Some years ago, a beloved tribal grandmother asked me a deep, soul-searching
“Grandson,” she said, “what is the Most Sacred, the Most Powerful, the Most Holy , the the Most Meaningful Ceremony of All Ceremonies?”
With some pride, I began to recount some of the traditional tribal ceremonies that I had participated in over the years. After I was finished describing the Sun Dance, the Sweat Lodge, Vision Questing, and other… Continue

Here's what the EPA says. Now who really knows the science to say if this is correct or not?

I don't know if anyone saw this or not but the EPA is having a news conference for reporters as shown below. It is only available for registered reporters. Don't know what that means but if there's someone amongst the membership who is such a person, here's the announcement:

I found a link to an interesting article on Asphalt Volcanism today. The article reviews a 2004 report published in the journal Science on discoveries of "tar volcanoes" in the Gulf of Mexico. According to the article:
The researchers, a team led by Ian MacDonald of Texas A&M University's Corpus Christi campus, dangled a remote-controlled camera off the German ship RV Sonne to the seafloor far below. Even with Continue

Tonight, my heart is full. I realized that the Creator is our hope, that truth and love is our hope. In this new age, our Creator has renewed our hopes in that day of peace when we shall all gather around that Sacred Tree. We can look around and see much chaos and destruction--the beast holding on in fear because it sees its end coming--but we can see, too, the signs everywhere of a new world breaking through the crusty ground of the old… Continue

This web site features various images of the Earth as viewed from space by the NASA GOES satellites. It is free and it requires a Java application that can be downloaded and this, too, is free.
Of interest to me is the Tropical Storm Alex out in the Gulf of Mexico now. Will there be waves created that will hamper the efforts to cap the badly leaking oil?

"The news that we obtain from the various parts of the world are most gratifying, for though there are some great problems to solve, yet no one can fail to see the constant realization of those ideals we cherish. May that day soon dawn when the source of this spiritual power, which is permeating the whole of society, will be appreciated and venerated." --Shoghi Effendi, Letter of Aug. 21, 1928

The young ones of all ages and all colours hunger for the stories of the the Red Nation. This is a time of great sharing. The sacred fires of peace are being lit all around the world. Our ears are opening to the cries of Ina Maka and our hearts are softened by the plight of our fellow nations. The four legged, the winged ones, the creepy crawlies, the water ones all of the nations that we share our dear mother with are asking, telling us to lsiten and act with an open heart.

On June 25, 1876, 134 years ago today, the US Military, under the leadership of General George Armstrong Custer suffered the most devastating defeat of their history at the Greasy Grass (Little Big Horn) when the 7th Calvary attacked a peaceful camp of our Dakota, Nakota and Lakota Nation and our Cheyenne and Arapaho allies and relatives, just after we had completed a Sacred Sun Dance Ceremony, June 18-21. I see a time of Seven Generations when all the colors of mankind will gather under the Sacred Tree of Life and the whole Earth will become one circle again. Prayer At Time Of Adversity, Inuit Indian
I think over again my small adventures. My fears, those small ones that seemed so big, for all the vital things I had to get and reach. And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing, to live to see the great day that dawns and the light that fills the world.
