The Divine Mother

When She came once Again, two scouts saw Her descending a hilltop. The Heart of one scout was more pure than the  other’s. She cleansed the lesser one. Her Message was Pure. She Came once more to Guide the Way for those Willing to listen to Her with Open Hearts.

She counciled the Listeners to straighten up. A pipe was given as a symbol of the Pure Path. Respect for the  Divine…

Hopi Message to the United Nations , December 12, 1992

Mr. Thomas Banyacya sprinkled corn meal next to the podium of the General Assembly and made a brief remark in Hopi that translates as follows:

Hopi spiritual leaders had an ancient prophecy that someday world leaders would gather in a Great House…

Call for Unity

Mena…Hey, my name is Raymond, welcome to Embera nation. It's probably difficult for many of you to make choices on the internet as there are so many options, but now that you are here know my words are from the heart.

With respect that comes from my commitment under God, from learning from my mistakes, and wanting to do right, is born this feeling of being involved in pursuit of the common good. It seems that most of my life has been following a path set out before me, giving… Continue

In the sixth grade I found out about hypnosis. The night before I watched a TV show that included a guy who did hypnosis. It was for entertainment. He had people clucking like chickens. He did a lot of other things that were amazing.

I told my classmates about it and concluded that we could do that too. George was…

Thinking and You

It is one thing to think. To act on a thought is to react. Reaction involves a yes, no or maybe. How a decision is made; to react or not, is mysterious. We need validation. What will be the result we must live with?

An emotion plays into the result. Is it going to be good or bad or indifferent? Maybe not enough information is at hand to decide.…

To all of my relations

What these words want to share with you all revolves around something's which have taken place in the past few days as a consequence of the European invasion of this land centuries ago. It was while reading a bulletin put up by Grey Wolf stating:  Listen to the words of our true leaders. Do these sound like the words of a man who wants to forgive and forget?  The words of Chief Seattle are so true to me when he speaks of the white man's God. Now we must all agree that our Creator has many… Continue

Red Road

dit

This message to mankind has been like a fire within me since 2003. My prayers have brought me this far, and meditation keeps me from falling apart. It is the urgency of what it feels to know without being able to communicate this knowledge in a way that enters the soul of my fellow man. Today a spiritual path needs more than intellectual pursuits or even prayer; we need action of the heart, we need to do what is right.

My mind returns to a time when… Continue

What is medicine 2

First the corn must be ground, and then cooked over the fire. The wood that is used for this process is sacred, and of a particular species of tree which must be cut, transported, dried in the sun, then split into thin strips all in specific ritualistic ways as dictated by tradition. After the cooking the corn is placed into large bowls or containers, and is further processed by chewing, and spitting back out into the bowls to ferment the drink.   The patient or patients for which the ceremony… Continue

What is medicine

On this early morning one of our neighbors, who is Embera, has come over accompanied by a small dog a puppy. Two of the cats who live with us arch their backs as their hair goes electric at the sight of him. The puppy then cowers down in submission as China, our female boxer mix, checks out all the commotion.

Priscilla is in conversation with my wife. Nick is going thru his early morning yoga routine. His brother had visited us a few months ago, and now Nick, an ex… Continue

Through The Doorways of Perception

Imagine a language without the words me and I. These words separate us from the Source. The Self becomes selfish in the presence of these words.

This Earth Mother is so profoundly Beautiful. It fills our Hearts with a loving Beauty. It manifested from the Source and Now we can  experience Everything.

My Totem

A few years back I discovered totems to be individual, a way to represent yourself to the world.

Without much more knowledge than that I went about finding my totem. I cannot remember one of the book I read however from that book, I chose a Loon as my totem to be. As I have grown within I see a certain flaw in this. I chose what my totem ought to be instead of having it given to me...I chose my totem like choosing a candy just because of the colour it is wrapped in.

I now ask…

The source of healing

..........................

Recently I read an article in a local newspaper, and looked at the accompanying photograph. It was about an event for a large group of adolescents with cancer here in the ....Republic.. of ..Panama..... Upon understanding the material presented it was like being hit by an enormous wave of mixed feelings ranging from anger, to despair, to a sense of urgency for people to learn to think with their hearts instead of the falsehoods that have been placed in… Continue

The light of truth

Being Messenger of a medicine way that can save us from ourselves has not been, as first imagined, a simple task of knowing and sharing. It seems that this knowledge will not grow in the unfertile minds of those whose hearts are not awakened.

The question is how to reason with the spirit of others who suffer in a deep sleep?

The evil of the mind stealing our awareness of the divine, our Creator, our Mother, is that so many of us act upon only what we can touch or see blind… Continue

More medicine stories

A rainy morning allows me this time to meditate while writing, a flow of

thoughts in words directed by attention to the Spirit. The day moves slowly

although another man has now come to our home for his second treatment. Like

one before him he has arrived with what the medical doctors here call an

incurable lesion on his ankle. At this moment my sister in law and wife are

attending to him. His family is from the Caribbean, and he speaks English as

well as Spanish.… Continue

Stories of healing

In living and sharing a medicine way it is often the retelling of stories or past events that best illustrates our Native American heritage. The following is from about three years ago.

A Wounaan woman comes over to

our home with a kid in tow, and a sick baby in her arms. Irma, and I, were

sitting on the floor in the house with fry bread and coffee for a late

breakfast. It went like this: I sent my eight year old nephew out to leash our

dog so as not to scare the… Continue
