Children and the Soil

Have you ever noticed the relationship between

children and the soil? Watch how happily they are touching the dirt. The

children play in it and eat it. If you are stressed, go to a spot on the

Earth, sit down, put your fingers in the dirt, dig in it. Wash your hands

in the soil. When you touch it, notice what it does to your hands. Our

bodies love to touch the Earth. Sometimes we get too busy and forget

these simple things. Maybe you'll even want to plant a garden… Continue

"The old people came literally to love the soil and they sat or reclined on the ground with a feeling of being close to a mothering power...The soil was soothing, strengthening, cleansing
and healing..."

Two Eagles...

I saw something the other day, perhaps you saw it too. It was on the front page of the Richmond paper - two eagles, side by side, eye to eye, wing touching wing .... there, stuck in the mud, not moving. No one saw how they got there. Two hikers came across the pair and called for help. After a struggle, the eagles were released, and after a brief scuffle in the air, flew away. The caption read, 'I told you we should have turned… Continue

For me the Great Spirit, God, Wakan Tanka, or whatever you call the creator, is the center of the Sacred Circle. To me the circle is composed of individuals whose vision- aim--goal, is unity, justice, love, and peace for all of creation.I believe the Sacred Circle is a part of a bigger circle of life. I don't feel that being in the Sacred Circle we… Continue
