We have the knowledge, we have the technology, do we have the will and desire to continue in a pono (righteous) way?
As indigenous peoples it is up to us to steward Mother Earth but certainly here on Great Turtle Island, we are not doing this. A house is a house, isn't it? Add a water-saving toilet, shower head, double-glazed windows, better insulatiion, low wattage lighting, cistern that recycles grey water and we could qualify for a LEEDS home award. Cultural genocide continues in Hawaii with the latest breaking news of a story about a man name Uncle Abel and the land he's stewarded for the last 30 years.
The land in question is known as Kawa and sits in the Ka'u district of the Big Island of Hawaii.
