Thank you for sharing that beautiful story about your mother. I also was with my mother for the last two weeks of her life in the hospital. We talked every day and I read to her as when I was a boy she read to me. After connecting with all 3 of her children, tired of the pain and effort to keep moving, not improving after a hip operation, she decided that 85 years were full and sufficient, directed the hospital to unhook her life support, got out of bed and sat in a chair, feeling relieved and free and content she passed away peacefully after an hour. Now I am 85, 6 months older than she was then, and I am so grateful for still having freedom of movement, clarity of mind, and the love of my wife and children and grandchildren I will stay and play as long as the Creation wants and tip my hat gracefully when it's time for my curtain call.
