Global Citizenship

I have been involved with the United Religions Initiative since it began in 1996. My passion is to leave this world a better place than I found it, and through these organizations where I have found people of like Spirit that share my hope, I have found some of my greatest joy. As the world shrinks around us, our willingness to work together will make possible some things that would have seemed impossible in the post-WWII world into which I was born.

At 2:49pm on January 17, 2010, Anne V. Roth said…: Election results for URI North America should be known on Feb. 3. There are only two candidates for the one vacant seat on the Global Council, and we bring rather different gifts and interests to the possibility.
Thanks to those of you who have sent good wishes. And yes, the Earth Ways are under consideration in many directions. Perhaps we simply need to share that information. www.uri.org will show you some of the work of the whole; www.uri.org/na will show you the latest work in North America. There are Cooperation Circles in existence for Earth-based Spirituality under the Multi-region (global) Region.

Please keep us informed. We are very close to the work of URI! I served on the design and development team for several years that put together the organizatioal framework. I was suppose to be at the World Gathering in India this past year and had gotten as far as Bangkok when the occupation of the airport prevented me from travelling on to Calcutta.They are a wonderful group of relatives, doing wonderful work and it would be great to deepen our work with these relatives. Will you be attending a regional meeting where the selection will me made? Dave Randall from WHALE was just telling me something about this . The very best on this possibility!!!

I trust you will know the answer and I pray you will have the position. You are a very wise woman and it is a blessing to have you here with us. Perhaps the question might be the other way around and inside out. We know the truth in all religious teaching is to love one another and yet the earth ways have been ignored. I would like to see a declaration of earth ecology and justice with laws backed by all religions. You know what I mean?
