FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FOUR WORLDS GLOBAL INDIGENOUS COMMUNICATIONS SUMMIT AND WEBINAR TO BE HELD IN KONA, HAWAII
Orem, Utah, July 22, 2008—Four Worlds International Institute (FWII), led by Indigenous leaders and supported by a global advisory team of education, environmental, health, economic, development, and information technology leaders, will hold a summit at Certiport’s 10th annual PATHWAYS 2008 global conference in Kona, Hawaii on August 1-3, 2008. The purpose of this Summit is to consult with Native Hawaiian and Indigenous leaders from North America on global resource, networking, and communication strategies and to further network and expand the Institute’s central program initiative, The Fourth Way.
The primary focus of The Fourth Way is to unify the human family by taking a culturally based, principle-centered path that transcends assimilation, resignation, and conflict. Phil Lane Jr., a globally recognized Indigenous visionary, humanitarian, educator, spiritual leader, and Chairman of the Institute, will facilitate a Webinar discussion on Saturday, August 2 at 9:30 am (Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time HST) as part of the Summit. To sign up for the webinar, please visit http://www.fwii.net.
“This Summit is the first of a series of small steps in a global process that will lay an enduring spiritual and technological foundation for furthering Indigenous contributions toward building sustainable peace and prosperity in the Americas, the Asia Pacific, and beyond in harmony with all members of the human family, at a crucial time of deepening global economic insecurity and social conflict,” said Lane.
FWII has been working for the past year with Certiport, DirectPointe, and Utah Valley University, who are partners in the Skilled2Succeed program, to develop a strategy that offers educational opportunity, life skills, and digital learning through a global networking initiative called "IndigeNet.” This initiative will serve as a key communications component for implementing The Fourth Way.
”Certiport’s PATHWAYS 2008 annual conference, with the theme Milestones in Empowerment, provides an ideal forum to announce and promote further consultation and collaboration on the Institute’s new goals and initiatives. Today, rapidly unfolding Indigenous spiritual, economic, educational, and social networking initiatives, including The Fourth Way and IndigiNet, are swiftly converging with the unfolding of other related technologies and principle-centered social movements. With this growing convergence, we have the opportunity to unify, crystallize, and focus our collective efforts toward a peaceful, harmonious, and prosperous future for all members of the human family. At this time of dynamic global transformation, this unifying and expanding synergy makes the message of The Fourth Way not only timely but critically and urgently important,” added Lane.
The Institute is currently seeking to expand and develop its International Advisory Board, resources, and communication and education hubs. For additional information, visit http://www.fwii.net/
