I'm not aware of how to access the conference calls but I won't be able to accomodate today. Can somebody clue me in and I'll be sure and join you next time. :)

Many of my friends on my Facebook are designers/artists who use the social networking site to promote their talent and latest projects. We can do the same for our members and help them get started or accelerate their growth.

I have been thinking a lot about how I can bring my own strengths to the evolution and synergy of this project and I can see that there are a lot of dedicated relatives here who can help me grow too. It will be a pleasure to work with you as we move toward the future together.

It's awesome to be part of this council. I read the breaking news piece and was thinking about ecosystems. In a healthy ecosystem, every organism plays a role. When an organism is removed or lost, the ecosystem suffers and has to adapt or fail. The workshops, conferences, lectures, etc., all provide tools we can use whenever and where ever. But failing is not the same as making mistakes, which is a big part of being creative. When we are drawing on the knowledge and experience of the participants, there is no such thing as wasted effort. My language teacher always told us that we never waste anything, including effort. You never know when the time will come to pull something off the shelf who's time was not when it was originally created, rather at a later date. Making mistakes gives us license to be creative and perfect our efforts, and learn from them. This is an exciting time and I am excited about where it is going. Thanks for letting me spend my dime tonight..walk with a good step, always. tc

Okay. Murphy's law intervened. My elderly mother who is still in Manitoba broke her back over the weekend...had to go attend to family matters. She is going to be okay, though recovery will be very slow at her age. I am now back in BC and will update once I have had my meeting (which I had to reschedule to Friday due to the emergent situtation with my mom). Talk to everyone soon!!

This has been an extremely helpful call Jon...thank you very much for taking the time from your schedule to bring me up to speed. In any case I think if we look at the Four Host First Nations (I will refer to in 'shorthand' as 4HFN) as the prototype to expand the economic model we would be making the most of an exceptional opportunity in leveraging the Olympics, when the world will be watching and coming to our door here at the Aboriginal Pavilion in Vancouver!

@ Michelle - I think weekly calls are a really good idea. I have setup an event that we can use to remind us. Let's have the first official call next Monday the 12th at 2 PM MST. I suggest we have another call sometime in the next few days. Phil and I will be in touch to find a good time for us. Thank you!!!

I look forward to weekly calls. It would be great if these could be in a Web-Ex context so we can map the calls. Would also like to have acall as soon as possible to connect Lee Peters with Deannie on Pathways in Toronto. I have faith that 2009 will be a very fulfilling year!
